We Understand
“I understand what you’re going through because I’ve been there before. One clear and sunny summer day, as I was in the process of getting out of my parked SUV, I heard the sound of wheels screeching and then ‘Wham!’ I was rear-ended by a driver who was actually accelerating, rather than slowing down, as he hit me. In fact, the impact was so hard that it pushed my vehicle forward, and he hit me again! I remember being disoriented – my ears ringing from the impact – while I was in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
Over the course of the next six months, I went to more doctor visits than I can recall. But I thought for sure that because the other driver was clearly at fault the insurance company would make it right. This was over twenty years ago, and while I was a new attorney myself, this was my first introduction to dealing with an insurance company in a personal injury case or even filing an insurance claim. And let me tell you, it was a real eye-opener!
I witnessed first-hand the delay and denial tactics that the insurance adjusters and the powerful corporate insurers would resort to in order to try to keep from paying me a fair amount for my medical bills, time off work to get treatment, and the pain and inconvenience that I had suffered. After litigating the case in court, we were ultimately able to come to a resolution. But I quickly realized that if the insurance company had the nerve to stonewall an attorney who was making a personal injury claim on his own behalf, imagine how they treat the everyday people pursuing claims who don’t have a knowledgeable personal injury lawyer in their corner.
That experience is part of what helped me to realize that my calling wasn’t to represent corporate interests like I had been doing up to that point. I instead knew that from that moment forward, I needed to focus my efforts on helping people. I knew that injury victims needed an attorney who would be willing to fight back against the corporate bullies and insurance companies who go to extreme measures to avoid fairly and fully compensating injury victims.
I’ve been in your shoes before, so I know what you’re going through. And I want you to know that we are here to fight for you every step of the way. If you’ve been a victim of an injury due to someone else’s carelessness, I hope that you’ll give us the opportunity to help you.”
